After the brutal, carastrophic scorched Ukraine to rubble, what do you suggest as an alternative ? Dealing with a meglomaniac and scycophants adds a whole new level to what is going on above and below ground. If the Russian people knew the TRUTH there would be a new reality to stop the war. Propaganda mixed with fairy dust from putan the ballet or olde Russia just don’t make it either.

I remember 9/11 very well—with the terrifying thought we had been bombed. The sky was eerily quiet and all you could see looking downtown was opaque smoke from Belleville, NJ. The Ukranians are now being bombed again and again. The NO FLY ZONE could be effective. The world shares this burden; but WE MUST move further to stop it as well.

Insightful comments— about the grim persistence of Putin’s shabby reign these past 20 years and still. He has become a malicious figure splaying bullets or bombs in Checynia, Syria, Ukraine as his own Reign of Terror. With all those demonstrations against him and this new war effort, there may be glimmers of reason in Belorussia as we saw last year. When Putin is blood thirsty and in his own irreality…

Excuse me, but having been born in the 1950’s I really had no sense of the Baltic countries, and I had a high school Ukranian classmate who hated the Russians. There was a reference to the Lithuanian armies in BORIS GODUNOV the other night on PBS. From the 18th century that had real resonance today. That former “no-mans” Russian territory still sits between them all. Another tinderbox issue. Putin now revealed as a meglomaniac. Rasputin anyone ?
September 1941
During WWII, the battle of Kiev in Ukraine, June to Sept. 1941, between Wehrmacht and Russian troops was the largest armored engagement in history.10,000 tanks and support vehicles between the two slugged it out. Russia won.

In a weird way, I think Putin has WAR & PEACE in his head or the Battle on the Ice from Prokofiev’s ALEXANDR NEVSKY !!!
And when that battle was over the Dead were strewn everywhere. Echoed in the profound Aria of lamentation !!!
Madness of another egomaniac…as the world lays in wait.
