Revamping all the Founders Memorials, Lincoln, and Columbus would be a better bet than tearing them all down. The Smithsonian, Library of Congress, NEA and NEH with the Park service could make this happen. In DC on F St Ford’s Theatre was restored in the 1960’s. The Lincoln Annex Museum built in the last few years could models of inclusion not destruction. What would happen if people call for destroying all the Mall Museum’s ? The decapitated statute of St. John’s Cathedral in Lyon, France still bear witness to the frenzy of the French Revolution. We have to ameliorate history or we destroy ourselves.
